Great weather, best friends, an awesome brunch, and a rooftop day party! What more could one ask for on a Saturday in the city? My first weekend in NYC couldn't have been better.
On Saturday morning my sister and I headed over to Friend of a Farmer in Gramercy Park for what has been voted one of NYC's top ten best brunch spots.
Friend of a Farmer is known for being one of the first restaurants to introduce the farm-to-table movement. Its fresh and local ingredients, homemade juices, and unique atmosphere are said to be unlike anything else in New York City so of course I had to try for my self. The line to get a table was pretty long and I was told that this is the norm but it moved very quickly. Inside the restaurant is pretty small and has a rustic/farm vibe kind of like Big Kitchen here in San Diego. The staff was friendly, the food was fresh and delicious, and the mimosas were even better. Honestly we enjoyed this place so much we thought about going back on Sunday, unfortunately we couldn't fit it in our schedule, but I will definitely be back on my next visit to NYC.
We headed over to the Indigo Hotel on the Lower East Side for the rooftop day party going down at Mr. Purple on the 15th floor. Talk about the ultimate NYC social scene, a super posh lounge, insane views, and outdoor terraces with a pool. This place was awesome, and thanks again to the bestie and all my new friends, we had the best time.
Saturday in the city, as expected, included lots of walking, but I knew we would be hitting some social scenes so I opted for a chic but comfortable look. My Katy Perry slip on sneakers (that I scored at Coachella) are one of my favorite pairs of shoes ever and I'm usually not a sneaker girl so that says a lot. I paired my slip ons with my favorite 7 for all Mankind denim shorts, and a super chic white top from Miss Match SD. My oversized sunnies are Dolce & Gabbana, and my oversized Miranda bag is from Michael Kors collection, but I switched it out for a small wristlet to attend the day party. Check out my pics below and leave your thoughts, feedback, or comments, on my look. As always thanks for reading and Happy Saturday.
