Schoolgirl P

September 16, 2017

It might not quit feel like it just yet but summer is over. I don't know about you but I am so ready to fall into autumn. Cold weather, textured fabrics, and rich hues are all elements I look forward to in creating my fall looks.

I was for sure a 90's kid. I've seen 90's fashion pop in and out of mainstream over the years, I am always happy to see it return. You can probably already tell from my photos that Clueless was one of my favorite movies, so for this look I channeled by inner Dion and Cher. As an alternative to boots I paired my black over the knee socks with a pair of plain black patent leather single strap sandals. This particular pair I found for $30 on I like to occasionally use socks rather than boots for a couple of reasons. Number 1 they are a great alternative if you have a hard time fitting boots on your calfs, #2 it's a great "out-of-the-box" way to add to your look.

When I say rich hues I mean those deep fall tones that pop like, maroon, emerald, chocolate, or marigold like my skirt. By mixing these tones together or with muted tones you can definitely create a statement. Since the rest of my look is pretty subtle the skirt added the perfect amount of pop that I was looking for.
