Seasons greetings friends, it's that time of year again THE HOLIDAYS! Now I know this season can be a little overwhelming for some of us. We have Christmas shopping to do, family coming in town, holiday events, etc...and let's keep it all the way 100, cash gets a little tight this time of year. Please try to remember that even the smallest gesture of kindness goes a long way, especially for a child who may not be able to experience the joy this season should bring. Last year I was inspired to host my very first toy drive. I have four children of my own and one of the most important lessons I want them to always remember is that this life is not about what we have, but what we GIVE. Giving to others blesses not only the receiver but the giver as well. 2 Corinthians 9:6-8 "Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously. Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver!"...Read that last line one more time......."God loves a cheerful giver"...... Who better to give to than a child in need?
If you have some time on Saturday December 14th please stop by my toy drive from 12-4pm (address listed below) and drop off an unwrapped toy. We will have a free hot chocolate station, and yummy treats for you to take as a thank you for your donation. Last year I donated all of the toys to the Boys & Girls club of San Diego. This year I will be teaming up with organizations to donate these toys to homeless/orphaned children here in San Diego county.
I am always open to suggestions and collaborating so if you would like to help out or if you have an organization that you would like me to check out please send their info. My plan is to keep this toy drive going year after year, it's success depends on your generosity so thank you in advance.
